Cindy Rice is a Registered Sanitarian, Certified HACCP Manager, ServSafe instructor and consultant for the food industry. President of Eastern Food Safety, Cindy is a graduate of Bates College, with a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts, and years of experience as an owner operator of food businesses, including corporate cafes and a brownie manufacturing company, International Brownie. She is the food safety expert for Ecolab Food Safety Specialties, providing expertise to their national clients, and writing for trade publications including Food Safety Solutions and The Griffin Report. Her own publications include Pocket Guide to Food Safety, PIC Manual, and an Allergy handbook for foodservice, "Don't Pick off the Croutons." She is a Technical Consultant and trainer for the National Environmental Health Association, helping them develop a training program for industry on food recalls and outbreak investigations, and developed a Food Recall training program for Massachusetts State and local Regulators.
